1. What Data We Collect

WiseCookie collects the following data when you interact with the bot:

• Message content — Messages sent in channels where WiseCookie is active are temporarily stored for conversation context (sliding window memory).
• User identifiers — Your Discord user ID and display name are stored to associate messages, personas, and moderation actions with your account.
• Learned facts — WiseCookie's AI may extract and store facts about you from conversations (e.g., interests, preferences) to personalize future interactions.
• Moderation records — If auto-moderation takes action on your messages, a record is kept including the message content, rule violated, and action taken.
• Images — Images you send are processed by our AI provider for analysis but are NOT stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Data

• AI Responses — Message content and conversation history are sent to our AI provider (Groq) to generate responses. This is real-time inference only, not training.
• Personalization — Learned facts about you are used to make WiseCookie's responses more relevant and personalized to you.
• Moderation — Messages are analyzed by AI to detect potential rule violations and protect the server community.
• Analytics — Aggregated moderation event data is used for dashboard analytics visible only to server administrators.

3. Third-Party Data Processing

Your message content is sent to the following third-party service for AI processing:

• Groq Inc. — Provides AI inference using Llama 4 Scout. Groq does NOT use your data for AI training. Zero Data Retention (ZDR) is enabled, meaning your data is not stored by Groq beyond the time needed to generate a response. See Groq's Privacy Policy.

Additionally, when WiseCookie performs web searches to answer your questions, search queries (not your full messages) are sent to DuckDuckGo. See DuckDuckGo's Privacy Policy.

4. AI Training

Your data is NOT used to train any AI models.

In compliance with Discord's Developer Policy, WiseCookie does not use message content obtained through Discord's APIs to train machine learning or AI models. Our AI provider (Groq) is contractually prohibited from using input data for model training.

5. Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored in an encrypted SQLite database on a private, secured server.
• Only server administrators can access the admin panel and view stored data.
• Data is retained only as long as necessary for the bot's functionality.
• Conversation memory uses a sliding window — older messages are automatically deleted.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your data — Use the /forgetme command to permanently delete ALL data associated with your account (messages, facts, moderation records, persona settings).
• Stop data collection — After using /forgetme, WiseCookie will not collect data about you until you interact with the bot again.
• Clear conversation memory — Use /clearmemory to clear conversation history in a channel.
• Natural language requests — You can also say "forget about me" or "forget everything about me" in a conversation with WiseCookie, and the AI will process your data deletion request.

7. Children's Privacy

WiseCookie is not intended for users under the age of 13, in accordance with Discord's Terms of Service.

8. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach, affected users and server administrators will be notified as soon as reasonably possible.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
